Lauren Oblitey

Lauren Oblitey is a performance-based artist/filmmaker located in Atlanta, Georgia. She started her pre-professional training as a Prodigy at Gotta Dance Atlanta under CiCi Kelley. From the age of 9, she has trained in all styles of dance with a concentration in modern and contemporary. During her training, she has participated in many summer intensives such as Alvin Ailey (2015) and Perry Mansfield (2017). Her professional career has allowed her to study abroad in Amsterdam and take daily classes at Henny Jurriëns studio and ICK Dans Amsterdam. Lauren’s work includes directing and starring in film projects, collaborative research (AI), sight-specific improvisation as well as performing choreographic works on traditional proscenium stages. Lauren now has her BA in Modern dance from Kennesaw State University. The driving force for her work comes from the love of free movement and the inspiration of natural elements.
