Evann Guthrie

Company Dancer

Evann found her passion for movement at a young age. She danced competitively throughout grade school and continued to study the art form in her collegiate years. In 2016, she studied in the Kennesaw State University dance program. There, she performed in the KSU Dance Company in a piece by professor, McCree O’Kelley. During her freshman year, she also performed in Project Seven Contemporary Dance Company in Atlanta, under the artistic direction of Cherrise Wakeham. She continued her collegiate dance journey as she transferred to the University of Georgia in 2017. While at UGA, she was chosen to perform in UGA’s Spotlight on the Arts, and other performance opportunities such as the Young Choreographers Show and CORE Contemporary and Aerial Dance company. Some of Evann’s other accomplishments while at UGA include being awarded the Cynthia Jarvis Memorial Scholarship in 2019 to study with Staibdance in Italy during the summer of 2019 as well as making UGA’s dean list in 2020. Evann graduated from the University of Georgia in 2020 with a Bachelor degree in Dance, and has since continued find ways to move. She just finished her first season with Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company where she performed in the works “Breath” and “This Silly Little Game”. She is currently a dance teacher, Pure Barre instructor and studio manager. She is thrilled to have the opportunity now to dance with SOMOS and perform in “ventitres”!
