Emma Singer

Emma grew up dancing in a small studio in Northeast Georgia, and graduated from Valdosta State University with her BFA in dance in 2022. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop through her early years, and went on to further train in ballet and modern in college. She also trained in aerial silks, pedagogy and choreography during her time in school. She was an active member, and the Secretary of VSU's chapter of the National Honor's Society for Dance Arts, and attended and performed at the Northeast ACDA conference her senior year of college.

 

Emma is currently dancing and choreographing for Profectus Dance, along with her work with SOMOS. She is in her second year of teaching for Expressions in Motion Dance, a company that sends teachers into public schools to teach dance.

 

Emma's personal dancing and work is inspired and influenced by the mountains, trees and streams that she grew up around, along with her love and passion for classical ballet and hip hop. Her inspirations include artists such as Twyla Tharp, Pina Bausch, Twitch and Savion Glover.
